Leadership Opportunities for Members

Nonprofit boards provide leadership and vision to help an organization achieve their mission. Board service supports the health of local nonprofits, expands the influence of the individual in community affairs and provides substantial professional development.

Board service and committee leadership opportunities are available to DOVIA-LA members.

Benefits to serving on DOVIA-LA’s board include expanding your community impact and network, strengthening and learning new skills, and receiving hands on leadership training and experience. By serving on our board you are able to enhance your resume while helping DOVIA-LA achieve our mission.

Open DOVIA-LA Board Roles:

• Vice President of Education & Programs (Available for appointment now)
• Secretary (Available for appointment now)

Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per month 

Current Open DOVIA-LA Committee Roles:

• Leadership Development (choose from education sourcing, outreach, interviews, placement, election logistics)
• Education & Programs (choose from meeting logistics. speaker sourcing, agenda planning, presentation set up)
• Membership (choose from member outreach, member engagement, membership expansion)
• Publicity (choose from social media, website, newsletter, graphic design) 

Time Commitment: Only have an extra 1-2 hours available per month? Skilled in marketing or website maintenance? Want to help plan our programming and professional development? Want to assist with strengthening our member benefits and outreach? Consider helping out on a committee! Serving on a committee is a great stepping stone to board service and DOVIA-LA is in need of committee members
