It’s Not Me, It’s YOU!
Taking a More Intentional Approach When Disciplining Volunteers
Wouldn’t it be much easier if we could just say what we are thinking to disruptive volunteers? Unfortunately, this generally isn’t the best approach. Before dismissing a volunteer, make sure you’ve done your due diligence so you fully understand the situation and can alleviate any issues and/or eliminate barriers to performance. If that doesn’t work, learn how to facilitate tough conversations that serve your organization’s purpose but still display dignity and respect to the volunteer.
During this presentation, we will discuss how to:
– Set your program up for success from the start
– Hold conversations on the front end to keep issues from snowballing
– Develop a progressive discipline system for volunteers to either meet your expectations or provide you with the grounds for termination
